BTFC shows
At BTFC we hold yearly shows where you can bring your fish, plants and aquatic-related photos along to share with everyone and compete for prizes. Shows are open to all: beginer and expert alike!
Fish are usually displayed in small, bare, glass tanks with a black bottom. Because this is an unusual environment for most home fish, some people like to make sure that their fish are used to this and the commotion common at a show beforehand - just to be on the safer side - by making sure that their fish spend some time in the show tank (and in a busy place) before the show. While the uttermost care is always taken, some fish may still feel down on the day of the show, in which case they will be removed from display and (more usually then not) disqualiffied. So as you can see, it is very important to make sure that you take the best of care of your fish and that they are healthy before the show.
There are a number of requirements concerning what should be done on the day of the show, regarding what tank and other equipment can be used as well as guidelines for what a "good" fish is which are avialbe from FBAS.. but as a general rule, if you feel proud of the fish, it should do well!
